Borneo Island
Borneo Island is a campaign project designed to raise awareness about the devastating impact of rubber plantations on one of the most biodiverse places on Earth. Created as a hybrid university and personal brief, the project combines print and digital media to both inform and inspire action.

The campaign includes a series of five posters, each available for purchase as a fundraising effort to support conservation efforts. Alongside the print work is an interactive website where visitors can engage with animals native to Borneo Island — bringing playfulness and connection to an otherwise sobering topic.

Visually, the animals are constructed from everyday rubber and latex-based objects, transforming familiar materials into striking, surreal creatures. This choice subtly confronts viewers with the uncomfortable truth: the same products we use daily are contributing to the destruction of their habitats.

The experience is supported by UI animations that bring motion and tactility to the website, making the interaction feel alive — and making the potential loss feel even more real.

This project aims to not just inform, but to make people feel what’s at stake if nothing changes.
